
Jolly Music Beginners Training Timetable (5 hours):
Part 1:
Introduction & the Kodály approach.
- The importance of music for ESL-learners.
- Introducing Jolly Music.
- Supporting language learning.
- The Kodály approach.
- Kodály teaching tools used in pre-school: movement and singing games.
- Time for questions.
20 min. break – time to see the materials.

Part 2:
Music skills:
- Music skills (Beginners Level):
- The importance of pulse.
- Pitch awareness.
- Musical memory.
- Inner hearing.
- Listening.
- Ensemble work.
- Introducing Jolly Toddlers (Phonics) through music (Jolly Phonics + Jolly Music):
- “The Fun Phonics Framework” (Beky Wilson).
- Learning some new sounds through music, games and movement.
- A brief review of some of the resources available.
- Time for questions.
All delegates receive a Certificate of Attendance and online support is offered throughout the year on completion of the course.

The course includes:
- The benefits of using music with young (ESL) learners such as language acquisition, comprehension and developing confidence and creativity within the classroom.
- How to Introduce Jolly Music to young children within a classroom or home setting.
- The Kodály approach and Kodály teaching tools: using our voice as a musical tool.
- The main musical skills taught thought a multi-sensory approach.
- Music and learning (transferable skills).
- Music and phonics (Jolly Toddlers – Beky Wilson).
This course is taken by official Jolly Music Trainer Pedro Izuzquiza, who is certified and approved by Jolly Learning Ltd in London. Pedro is a Music specialist with many years experience. He has been a key-note speaker at numerous conferences including the British Council and Bellas Artes in Madrid, TESOL Spain, Jolly Learning, London, Milano and in Hong Kong and has written for various publications such as Doce Notas and the online EFL Magazine.
Pedro currently works as a full-time preschool and primary teacher using the Jolly Music programme in order to teach Music in English with ESL learners.
