What is Jolly Music?

Jolly Music is a structured and progressive music programme that begins in preschool and continues on through the primary stages, providing a well-planned curriculum and offering the highest quality teaching to the children through appropriate materials, especially for young ESL-learners.

Using a multi-sensory approach to teaching, children become instant music-makers through traditional, playground rhymes and songs, very young children are immediately introduced to musical elements such pulse, rhythm, pitch, tone and tempo using simple songs, rhymes and games.

The 30 minute weekly lessons have been carefully structured in order to build on key musical skills such as listening, singing, inner hearing, which ultimately lead to reading and writing music. Taught in this way, music also helps strengthen children’s language and physical development, whilst also encouraging confidence within the classroom. Research has proven that music lessons improve and enhance learning in all other subjects.

This fun and practical-based training course demonstrates the use of simple songs, rhymes, games and creative activities which are suitable for teachers and parents in any educational setting, especially those wishing to teach or compliment the instruction of  English as a second language at home or at school.

This course has been specifically designed for non-music specialists and preschool teachers (no musical background needed), however, everyone is welcome, especially those who wish to extend their own teaching repertoire through the use of simple music-related activities.
